Jurassic World Evolution is a good park building game, reminiscent of stuff like Zoo Tycoon or Jurassic Park Operation Genesis. But one area it has been completely lacking in is rocks. One of my favourite games is the park builder Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis. It was released back in 2003. The recent Jurassic World Evolution was a solid successor to JPOG, but Parkasarus, an indie game in Early Access on Steam, actually captures the feel of JPOG better. And it looks cuter doing it, too.
Movie tie-ins are a gamble that usually ends with a lacklustre game. For every Spider-Man 2, there's a dozen games that are clunky and not worth your time. Jurassic World Evolution falls somewhere in between.
It's not the most detailed park-building sim, but if you embrace some of its clumsiness, you'll find yourself lost in the fantasy of being a dinosaur park mogul.
