Warhammer: Vermintide 2 came out on PC on March 8, 2018. Maybe you’ve never heard of it. Maybe you have but then forgot, that grimy compound word in the title slipping past you like rain down the side of a newly waxed car. You should know that it was always good, and it’s spent the last 12 months getting even better.

Killing the player is easy. Games do this all the time, often by surprising them with something unexpected and lethal or by simply ramping up the difficulty and pummelling them into submission. Vermintide 2 offers a third option, taunting your four-player squads without outright destroying them: the Packmaster.

Buckle up people: the NSFW mods are coming. Well, that's my bet within a month or so after people finally get their hands on Final Fantasy 15 on PC, which drops later this week. And if you want a more brutal experience to share with friends, why not slaughter some Skaven in Warhammer: Vermintide 2.

Families don't miss out though: there's also Scribblenauts Showdown, which I'm low-key hoping is like a less rage-inducing version of Mario Party. If you want something completely different, how about a stylised isometric RPG that blends stealth with anime-esque cutscenes? And by the way, there's an original NES game out this week. I'm not kidding.
