Ridge Racer Has Only Three Tracks? 30FPS? No Thanks!

I like Ridge Racer. It’s a guilty pleasure. And I was actually thinking of getting the next game. That is, until I heard what madness Namco Bandai is pulling.

When the game goes on sale December 17, it will come with only three tracks and five cars. That’s it.

The three tracks are Harborline 765, Highland Cliffs and Southbay Docks. All three of the tracks can be raced in reverse, and they have all appeared in previous Ridge Racer games.

Namco Bandai will release more tracks in the future — more cars, too. If that wasn’t bad enough, the game will run at 30 frames per second.

Even though Ridge Racer is one of the cheaper Vita games, and even though I thought I could see myself playing it on the Vita, I can’t see myself buying it.

I’ll be sitting this Ridge Racer out.
