Laurel D. Austin does some great work. Employed for years at Splash Damage, the team behind Brink, she’s recently joined Blizzard, where she’s working as a concept artist. Living the dream.
In this gallery you will find: some of her amazing work for Brink (say what you will about the game, its art was awesome) as well as World of Warcraft stuff, specifically images for the trading card game based on the blockbuster MMO.
You can see more of Laurel’s work at her personal site.
Fine Art is a celebration of the work of video game artists. If you’re in the business and have some concept, environment or character art you’d like to share, drop us a line!

Friday, January 13, 2012 at 10:29 AMThe reason more grammer nazi’s don’t comment on Mr. Plunkett’s work is due to the fact they usually have an aneurysm by the third paragraph. Or at least go into shock by the second.

Friday, January 13, 2012 at 12:51 PMI saw some making of videos of brink and was very interested in the art and turns out it was a french guy (one of the art directors) who came up with the elongated style and had to really push for it. So while these are very good, they’re probably not totally indicative of her style as a whole.

Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 4:02 PMfor the most part i quite liked brink, and the artistic approach to it. Unfortunately for it, it the rumble of the Battlefield 3 and MW3 juggernauts totally drowned it out.
