It’s been eons — in gaming time, at least — since The Creative Assembly’s Roman variant of the Total War strategy games let millions of players become Caesars. A sequel’s finally been confirmed today and Total War: Rome II will be sporting a new graphics engine to make the global domination shinier than ever. You’ll get your chance to run the ancient world’s most powerful armies sometime next year.

Can’t explain it but Total War: Rome was my least favourite in the franchise so far..
Hopefully you won’t be forced to wipe out “your” family by the game demanding, in successive moves, that you have to kill the head of the family – thus causing your game to come to an early end.

They only asked you to commit suicide if you kept failing the Senate missions or let your settlements rebel, and you could always decide against it. Anyway that was ages ago I highly doubt they’d not make significant changes to the game.
Rome has always been one of my favourites. Shield walls facing off against barbarian hordes in one of the most amazing parts of history is hard to beat 🙂

Rome was actually my second fav right behind medieval 2. Really looking forward to this. Total war games have always been high quality.

Yes yes yes yes yes! Was so hoping they would do Rome again, my first Total War game originally and probably still my favourite despite some of its issues ^ ^

Rome: Total War is by far the greatest, probably because of it setting. Day one buy for me.
