Nintendo’s Japanese headquarters built a new development studio in Kyoto. Here’s a look at the completed structure.
These images come courtesy of Japanese site Inside Games, which reports the seven-storey development studio is roughly the same scale as Nintendo’s nearby headquarters, which it closely resembles in design.
This is Nintendo’s Kyoto headquarters.
And here is its new development building. Notice the oval around the Nintendo logo?
The building’s official name is “Nintendo Co., Ltd. Development Center”. Love the inclusion of the old style Nintendo font.
The rationale for building the structure was to centralise and strengthen Nintendo’s game development. Let’s hope many wonderful Nintendo games are developed here for years to come!

Man it looks drab!
Oh well, more development teams/ studios is exactly the thing Nintendo needs right now.
Enough teams with to release a steady stream of AAA 1st party games (at least 4-5 a year) with development cycles long enough to actually make new and innovative games….. like they did from the mid-80’s to mid-00’s.
I’d love me a photo in front of that sign. #fanboy
I was going to say, it looks exactly the same as the Nintendo building I used to work in in 1996 in Kyoto.
Had to look twice to realise it wasn’t the same building. I remember my first day there, I was expecting some crazy-colourful environment and got off the train and was faced with the big white fridge. It was slightly disappointing.
That building has some huuuge pixels..
