Al Lowe, creator of the lecherous adventure game series, has started a Kickstarter to develop a “Reloaded” edition of the original Leisure Suit Larry. They hope to raise $US500,000 and release the game for PC, consoles and mobile. [Kickstarter]
The comedy is a well-established film genre, yet few games get labelled as such. Indeed, rare is the game that can tell a good joke, let alone one that is based entirely on making the player laugh. Comedy in games, it seems, is tough.
For those who grew up in the early days of PC adventure gaming, Al Lowe needs no introduction. Between Al Lowe speaking and rumours of a new game in the series, we’ve had about all the Larry news we need. All that could top the week off would be some lovely pieces of Larry-inspired art.
