The Week In Games

After a desolate few weeks, the new releases have begun to pick up again.

And there’s something for everyone this week. From the white picket fence min-games of Big Family Games to the white picket fence role-playing of Fallout 3, there’s something on every platform, for every age group.

Me? I’m quite keen to check out Neopets Puzzle Adventures. Seriously!

New releases for the w/c May 18:

Big Family Games (Wii)
What Is it? In the tradition of Big Beach Sports, only with less beach cricket.
Should You Care? For those who really need another mini-game collection on their Wii.

Bionic Commando (360, PS3)
What Is it? 3D remake of classic Capcom platformer where you use a grappling hook to get around.
Should You Care? It’s rock-hard and not as good as you might hope it to be.

Demigod (PC)
What Is it? Real-time strategy with hero units from the makers of Supreme Commander and Dungeon Siege.
Should You Care? Multiplayer fans will get plenty of mileage here; solo strategists won’t.

EA Sports Active: Personal Trainer (Wii)
What Is it? Wii Fit.
Should You Care? Do you care about Wii Fit?

Fallout 3 (360, PS3, PC)
What Is it? Re-release of Bethesda’s award-winning RPG from last year, thanks to new distributor Atari.
Should You Care? Only if you haven’t already picked it up.

Neopets Puzzle Adventures (Wii, DS, PC)
What Is it? Puzzle Quest with Neopets.
Should You Care? It’s probably better than Galactrix, despite the irksome Neopets.

UFC 2009: Undisputed (360, PS3)
What Is it? Mixed martial arts fighting game.
Should You Care? Do you like to see two sweaty men beating each other black and blue?

Velvet Assassin (360, PC)
What Is it? Stealth shooter set in World War II.
Should You Care? There’s an OK stealth game lurking in here… somewhere.
