Remember This?

Can you guess this old game from just one screenshot?

I’ll update this post with the answer at 5pm today if no one has guessed before then. Or if you do guess it before then, feel free to share your memories of a classic game.

Good luck!

    The Last Express, a real-time 2D adventure game released in 1997 :-)

      Correct!

Any guesses yet as to this week's Remember This? theme?

        Yup!
        1) Player witnesses a crime, has to solve the mystery; and
        2) Must be a Mid-90s PC game; and
        3) Must be something that I haven't played

        *shrugs*
        Genre ground breakers?

          Other guesses:

          They're early real-time games

          Multiple endings

    Harry Potter "Origins" ?

    Errrm.... nope, sorry, don't remember.

Yeah Last Express. Finally one that I know, but alas I wasn't the first to respond :(

Really a great game if you have the patience for it.

Last Express obviously but now I'm more intrigued by what the theme for this week's games are.

    Tres puzzling...

GTA as it was originally intended: a point and click adventure.

I kid, I kid, The Last Express(an adventure game based on 'Murder on the Orient Express) or something..

Miss Marple in the Library with a revolver.

Is the theme to do with rotoscoping or motion capture?

Here's my guess for the theme: games that went hideously over budget.

Theme is sadly, studios that went belly up :(
    And they made innovative games.
R.I.P Looking Glass & Smoking Car

Am I the only one that saw the thumbnail as Jesus holding a guy at gun point?

No, my fist thought was "Why is Jesus threatening that guy?"

I'm still holding out for that Last Express movie I was promised.

As everyone has said - The Last Express, the only one of these I've recognised straight away.

Contrary to popular belief, it is not based on the Agatha Christie novel "Murder on the Orient Express" in any way, and is actually an original story written by the developer that takes place on the last journey of the Orient Express on the eve of World War II. Following this, the train was derailed/in disuse for perhaps a decade, after which is temporarily came back, but as I remember it was seen as an opulent and useless facet of the past, which was quite inappropriate as it travelled through war-torn Europe.

It didn't come back into proper rotation until the mid-late 70s, as I remember.

Similarly, the game went out-of-print within a few years of its release, and is kinda expensive. But excellent.

Could the theme here be games centered around modes of transport? GTA - cars, this (obviously) trains ...

    Just guessing

    Heavy Rain.
