This Video Game World Record Will Blow You Away

Yesterday Guinness awarded Jesse Moerkerk of Dutch gaming magazine N-Gamer a world record certificate for playing Super Mario Galaxy 2 for 18.52 minutes. Oh, and he did it while freefalling.

It’s a brand new Guinness world record, but a world record nonetheless. From within the confines of an indoor skydiving tunnel, something I didn’t know existed and plan on checking out at my earliest convenience, Jesse managed to keep control of Mario and himself for three minutes beyond the 15 minutes Guinness required to make it into the record books.

While now that the gaming community at large knows such a record exists it will doubtlessly be broken in no time flat, Jesse will always have the glory of being the first.
