The Dangerous Art Of Tomb Raider

The new Tomb Raider game flips everything we know about Lara Croft on its head, turning one of gaming’s most dangerous superstars into a broken, vulnerable human being. Just like the rest of us.

To really nail that sense that the world is a dangerous place, the game’s artists needed to make sure the landscape was as intimidating as any enemies you’ll face along the way.

Going by the art, at least, it’s mission accomplished, as the rain-soaked hellhole Lara is washed up upon looks dark, sharp, deep and deadly. And I really mean sharp: look at these pictures and see how many broken things there are pointing up at you like knife trees made of broken glass.

Fine Art is a celebration of the work of video game artists. If you’re in the business and have some concept, environment or character art you’d like to share, drop us a line!
