How Gears Of War 3 Deals With Salty Language When You Don't Wanna Hear It

We already knew you could turn on mature language and gore filters for Gears of War 3, but here's a look at how that language censor works in action.

Be warned, if you want to experience the Xbox 360 shooter completely free of lightly spoiling dialog, you might want to give this short video a pass.

well thats pretty pointless - i mean you know exactly what they're saying anyway...

Well of course you do, but you don't actually have to hear it. Sometimes the problem with colourful language is just that it is jarring and unnecessary. It's good to have a choice. It also means I can play it when my son is in the next room and not risk him repeating what he's heard. :P

How do you watch films with harsh language?

you wait til they're not around...but it's nice to have the option to not have to do that with some games.

I don't know why people get so mad about people appreciating that a game has the OPTION to turn off the swearing. In my household, it comes in handy.

Personally I prefer the old BLEEP. But what*BLEEP* ever.

i can't help but laugh at it, especially because, as Chuloopa points out, i know what they're saying, so it just makes it hilarious.

also "Would you get the f*** out of my way please" in John DiMaggio's voice is 'effin hilarious.

It'd be much funnier if they took the Coen brothers Big Lebowski approach. I want to hear something like John Goodman shouting "This is what happens when you fight a stranger in the Alps!"

How is this news? It was like this in Gears of War 2 as well.

Think they got their priorities mixed up. Exploding limbs, no problem! Colorful language, big no no?
