Community Kudos

After last week’s epic, epic Community Kudos (which took me almost two hours to write) this one will have to be teensy bit shorter, mainly because I’m heading off to the annual IT Journo awards (also known as The Lizzies) where Kotaku has been nominated for a bunch of awards!

Wish us luck! Kotaku’s up for best gaming coverage and best website, both Tracey and myself are up for best game journalist, Tracey’s also up for best news journo, and I’ve been nominated for best columnist. Man, I hope we win stuff!

Anyway, enough about how great we are. TO THE KUDOS!

A bit less Kudos emails this week, but I did hear from someone I’ve missed over the last few week — Sir God King Chuloopa. Where you be at dawg?

Chuloopa dropped noms for Shane who — surprise surprise — has been giving away video games. Who is this man and why does he have so many games to give away?

Chuloopa also nominated FatShady, not just for the Trials video, but for the effort he puts into getting the community involved with his Trials shenanigans. He signed off with this beautifully written paragraph…

Soooo much Kudos do i give to Mr.Shady. I rev the shiz out of my kudos, launch it off a ramp, over rotate it and land it in a pipe, or on a box of explosives, just so that i can drop to my knees, raise my hands dramatically, and scream to the heavens that have forsaken me…. KUUUUUDDDOOOOOOSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!

Ahaha Greenius’ nomination letter was the best, mainly because he nominated “everyone playing Trials Evolution because… Trials!”

I agree.

He also got more specific and nominated Cakesmith and NegativeZero who helped him get the Gold Nunchuck from the Club Nintendo scheme.

It seems as though Greenius has been playing a lot of Draw Something — he nominated Becaroonie for her incredible drawing skills. Example below!

DRAWSOME!

From now on I have decided to refer to Strange as ‘Oprah’. Because she sent an email to me with ‘Oprah’ in the subject line. And also because she is nominating EVERYONE! YOU GET A NOM…

YOU GET A NOM!

YOU GET A NOM!

YOU GET A NOM!

Speaking of subjects — Scree always sends an email to me with ‘Scree’s Noms’ as the subject heading. I always imagine that Scree’s Noms are like some delicious snack you can buy in the supermarket, like Tiny Teddies, or Gummie Bears, or Nobby’s Nuts.

Man I’m hungry…

Scree’s noms were pretty extensive, but sadly not something that I could physically eat. She nommed Negative Zero for helping her with a computer issue, and Strange, for helping her out with her cosplay. Scree is actually blogging about her cosplay experience, which you can read about here. Scree was pretty explicit in her wish that Strange get her mad props for helping out.

But oh, what’s this? A surprising turn of events, an M. Night Shyamalan twist of sorts! Two noms for Scree at the last minute! One from Link for helping him track down replacements for his N64 versions of Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time. And another from Virus__ for being awesome with her cosplay antics and such like.

So… congratulations Scree! You are this week’s winner of Community Kudos!

Have a great weekend everyone!
