   Steams telling me MP3’s been knocked back till August on the PC.

   Getting diablo 3, but I feel like I’ll regret it.

         I would say because they took what was a great single player RPG and turned it into World of Diablocraft.
         I’m with Bryce. I will likely buy it but I feel I will regret it and be let down.
         It doesn’t looks like it will feel the same as 1 and 2 where I spent so many hours.

               Therein lies the problem though.
               I feel I will be buying something that I am in all likelihood not going to enjoy and thus waste my money which could be used for other things.
               I am sure many people will buy it and enjoy it and think it’s the best game ever but there is also many of us who think otherwise. And at a stage in my life where I don’t have a lot of spare time so I have to make decisions on what game I buy and will get the most enjoyment from.
               And before anyone says it, yes I know I could just not buy it but I won’t really know if I will love it or hate it until I buy it and so many hours spent in the Diablo universe means that I feel obliged to give it a chance.
               However, I am realistic about my expectations here.

               Play the starter version and decide if you like it. Then buy it.

               Didn’t know there was one to be honest.
               Just looked it up now.
               So I have to either wait a month or find someone who has bought a boxed copy to give me a guest pass>
               This could be an option.

            If you think it’s become World of Diablocraft then you haven’t seen the game at all.
            It’s still fundamentally Diablo. The multiplayer is relatively unchanged from D2.

               I agree. Playing the beta is the best gaming experience I’ve had in years. Seriously. What they’ve taken out and streamlined (the dumbing down) needed to be dumbed down. This is the most concentrated smooth package of pure entertainment I’ve experienced in a very long time.

               *I am assuming the proper release doesn’t have the latency I at times experienced in the beta. That was mindnumbingly annoying and frustrating and I only put up with it because everything else was so top notch.

         I played the beta and was having a hard time figuring out whether I was having ‘fun’ or just going through the motions.

         The disconnect in the game was all to evident most times. It wasn’t ‘My Barbarian’ it was ‘A barbarian’

         I keep telling myself the full game will be better, but we’ll see (hence “I will probably regret it”

            yeah i know that the tier costume thing was a let down i want my own barb not one that looks the same as everyone elses but i heard the beta stages arnt even in the game so you never know

    I’m on a self imposed game purchase ban as I try and clear out my backlog. There was one exception I set when I set the ban.

    Bit the bullet and bought Diablo through Battle.net yesterday.

    Downloaded it fairly quickly, so my laptop is ready to storm the gates of hell. Shame my PC is out of commission, doubt I’ll really get to enjoy things until I get to play it on my PC. Not too sure my laptop will be up to the task.

       If people still haven’t bought at and want to get it from Battlenet, there’s a really easy trick that gets you $10 off the price (about $70). I’m not sure if they’ve already closed this little exploit, but it worked for me a week or so ago.

       1.Log into https://us.battle.net/account/management/get-a-game.html
       2.Note that the balance on the right-hand side most likely reads in AUD, as does the price of Diablo III
       3.Click Transaction History > Balance History
       4.Select US Dollars from the currency drop-down menu
       5.Click Games & Codes > Buy Digital Games
       6.Diablo III should now be listed in $90 SGD (i.e. $69 AUD)
       7.Continue ordering as per usual. The game version is Global, so you’re not getting a Singaporean version here.

          Just to make sure (too late for me but can’t hurt for anyone else). Do you select US Dollars or Singapore Dollars?

          Step 4 says USD, step 6 says SGD.

             You select US Dollars, and for some reaason (a bug in their website?) it lists it as Singapore Dollars in the main page. There’s nothing to lose to just try it out without going through with the purchase if you want to see if it works, you can easily change it back any time. Just change your Transaction history to USD and see if it then shows up as $90 SGD on the main page, if it does then you can but it for $70 bucks.

       I’m too cynical about some of the design decisions, but not going to get into that. I’ll wait and see what the impressions are like and maybe pick it up when it’s cheaper.

       I’m the same. I don’t want to make a fuss or anything, but I don’t really care for any of Blizzards games. There not bad developers, I just find their RTS and click-clicks-clicks really boring. Might be the psychologist in me, but the whole thing reminds me too much of Skinnerian conditioning.

       Max Payne on the other hand…

    I dont understand all the whinging about Diablo 3, and how it doesnt have the same skill tree crap like D2, you people must whinge about everything in your lives.     Diablo looks so dumbed down, what with all this talk about stats and levels and bloody screen, most of it sounds stupid. So I was considering it at first but I will not be buying it now. Maybe Torchlight 2 instead.

          Yeah he will be. Been playing Torchlight 2 beta the last few days and while it is good, D3 is a lot better. And prior I was more excited about Torchlight 2. Not anymore. Bring on Diablo!

    No LAN support for D3.. very, very big minus for me… I was wanting to play this on the LAN with my wife.. but now looks like we’ll have to do it via internet connection, which kinda blows goats.

    In the BigW catalogue that came out today (not on website yet) they have Max Payne 3 for both systems for $68 and Diablo 3 Standard for $58. Gotta love price wars on big releases.
