What If Pixar Made A Justice League Movie?

Given Disney's affiliation with Marvel Comics, there's scant chance we'll ever see a Pixar Justice League film happen. But if the tides ever someday magically turned, these concept sketches by artist Daniel Araya would be a great place to start.

Araya explains the designs:

Just for fun I started doing concepts for a faux Justice League CG movie. I've always been a huge fan of Bruce Timm and the DC Timmverse he helped create, and I thought it would be cool to basically design the JLA movie that I would direct if given the chance. I didn't do any huge drastic changes because I didn't want to betray the characters in terms of who they are and what they're about.

Among the flourishes Araya has added are Jack Kirby-like spots on John Stewart's Green Lantern outfit and a Wonder Woman whose upbringing on Paradise Island -- here's his slightly not-safe-for-work sketch of that tropical locale -- doesn't make her a team player. ("I feel like her acceptance of men would be a very slow, gradual thing and it would never be 100 per cent," Araya notes.) Here's an overview of his many superheroic rejiggerings.

These look awesome! Well, all except Superderp, there.

Some nice designs. Doesn't have to be Pixar to make a CG Justice League film.

Art looks great but Superman looks a little too big in the chest area. Next we need a story then let's do this JLA movie. Make it a little dark too

I disagree. Superman has always been a 'big boned' hero compared to the rest. Plus if everyone had the same silhouette it would be boring.

Yeah that's a pretty tame chest for a Superman. Watch the animated series. How nobody notices Clark is the size of a bus is beyond me.

How nobody notices he's never around at the same time as Superman, after all this time, is beyond me

How in Metropolis all it takes to disguise your identity is a pair of glasses is beyond me

Oooo, I love 'em! Specially the headshots of Bruce and Clark. (Actually all of the batty sketches are pretty awesome!)

Superman looks a little cross eyed and stupid. Apart from that, really good.

Patrick Warburton will voice act for Superman

Anyone notice that Green Lantern looks like a buffed up Frozone from The Incredibles?

      Had exactly the same thought.

I think Superman is maybe a little over-Pixared, but otherwise these look awesome.

Bruce is instantly recognisable as Bruce and that's awesome.

I'd like a more serious looking Superman, but the Face and proportions would work great for Captain Marvel.

As for how people never notice Clark and Superman never being together, come on how many people are never around with Superman.
