Watch Dogs Will Apparently Be Out This Christmas For 'All Home Consoles'

Watch Dogs, the impressive-looking game that stole the show at last year's E3, will be out this Christmas for "all home consoles," according to leaked marketing materials received by Kotaku today.

Check the images below to see both the front and back of the marketing materials, which mention a quote from G4 about the game being a "truly next-gen adventure".

All home consoles. Truly next-gen adventure. Could publisher Ubisoft perhaps be hinting at something? As most people predicted last year when the French publisher showed off the gorgeous action-adventure game, this is indeed a next-gen game.

Ubisoft has already confirmed that the stunning open-world game -- a cyberpunky adventure that involves a lot of computers -- will be coming to PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Now it's become clear that it will also be on the next Xbox and PlayStation, which have not yet been announced but are expected this holiday season.

But will Watch Dogs also be out on Wii U? Ouya? Shield? "All home consoles" could mean a lot of things.

We've also recently heard that Watch Dogs was originally a Driver game. We've asked Ubisoft for comment both on that and the console situation, and we'll update should we hear back.

UPDATE: Ubisoft has responded, and while it won't comment on consoles or release dates, Ubisoft senior vice president of sales and marketing Tony Key said in a statement: "Ubisoft is pleased with the response for Watch Dogs from media and fans. The game is an original IP that has been created from the ground up at Ubisoft Montreal with inspiration from many titles and ideas the studio has worked on throughout the years."

Hope that means we will start to get some more details about the game. Apart from an impressive video, it isn't exactly clear what the game is about or what you do in it etc.

This should mean we will see a lot more of it at E3 this year, can't wait!!

Ah cross generational games... I remember the XBOX/360 cross generational games... where it felt like something was 'missing' from the Xbox ones. It's gonna happen here too.

I do hope that this comes out on the Wii U.
the interface from the E3 demo seemed such a nature fit for the Wii U.
If it comes out on both PS3/360 and the next gen consoles, unless it comes with uber updated specs and graphics, I don't think many people will use as a reason to jump to the new systems right away.

Am also hoping that this game doesn't end up with a massive case of "Assassins Creed Syndrome", where it comes out with huge promise but the end result is such a let down in terms of bugs, controls and overall story.

Yep. The first wave of games released on both PS3 and PS4, or 360 and Durango, will see not much more than a shinier coat of paint. I can't help but think the need to release on what will be "last gen" hardware around Christmas will limit Ubisoft's ability to make a truly "next gen" game.
PC gamers will probably moan about it as well, a la Crysis 2. Which is something I can somewhat understand.

Wish Sony and Microsoft would hurry up so I can pre-order the new consoles already! No way in hell am I pre-ordering before the official SKUs' are actually on retailer systems - Us early adopters know our pre-SKU-order money has a habit of disappearing off the face of the earth :/

I haven't pre-ordered anything since Skyrim Collectors Edition. Because even though I was the first to pre-order in my local area - my copy was not reserved. Which is the definition of what a pre-order is. There's no point in pre-ordering if your item is not secured/reserved!

So no mention of a PC version in the works? Oh okay :( Guess I will just have to either way a year for the port or miss out on another console exclusive because I don't own a console.

We're getting a PC release, but this is Ubisoft, so don't expect the port until at least a month later.

WatchDogs , Remember Me, LitleBigPlanet 3, Uncharted 4 and KillZone 4 as PS4 Launch Titles please.

I think this generation mayb eunique in that any games releasing this year outside CoD won't do well, while most hold out for the new consoles, and better versions of most games on those new consoles.

I mean honestly, why would you get Destiny/Watch Dogs/GTAV on PS360 when you can get them on the new consoles?
