Cyberpunk 2077 Will Be The First Multiplayer Game From The Witcher Makers

What do we know about Cyberpunk 2077 so far? There's going be fancy new software making it run. You might learn a new language while playing. And parts of it are going to be very pretty. But a few more details are coming to light about the upcoming sci-fi title from CD Projekt Red.

A new interview at Eurogamer reveals that Cyberpunk is going to be an open-world title and will feature multiplayer as well. Here's the dev studio's managing director Adam Badowski:

"It will be a story-based RPG experience with amazing single-player playthroughs, but we're going to add multiplayer features."

"The first and most important environment for Cyberpunk is the city, obviously. But not only the city: you can expect some more environments in the Cyberpunk game. We want to start in the Night City, which is cool. And yes it will be an open world game as well."

An RPG structure doesn't come as much as a surprise to anyone familiar with The Witcher games. But it's going to be extremely interesting to see what multiplayer ideas CD Projekt Red comes up with for their next-gen game. Let's hope some sort of co-op makes it into the mix.

I am sure CD Prokekt Red will pull it off, they have yet to fail me thus far.

im so excited for this game, these sorts of neo futuristic games are all im about (dues ex-y style futuristic)
this will be on my 'must play' list, unless its goes all sim city on us...

I'd love to see a return to strong multiplayer RPG titles. The shift in games, a few years ago, that had party-based gameplay but were only single player (Dragon Age, for example) still confuses me a little.

For me RPGs are all about the story and character interactions, and I think that seems to work better when the game and story is focused around the player character, rather than a party of them. Its why I prefer Mass Effect to Icewind Dale.

But hell that's just my opinion.

I like that they say they are going to add some multiplayer features. It makes it sound like the single player campaign is going to be the primary focus. Really looking forward to this one

I was hooked by that cinematic trailer. Bizarrely and completely.
