Community Kudos

Afternoon people, hope you are having a darling day. Welcome to Community Kudos!

I’m looking forward to this weekend. I get to play Luigi’s Mansion some more, I get to go climbing and the KFC club will form like Voltron to watch UFC on Sunday (tweet me if you’re interested in coming). Good times.

But before any of that happens we must engage in Kudos. Let the noms flow my brethren…

Last week because of email difficulties, I missed a fair few noms last week. One of them was from Smurfydog, who was kind enough to send them in again for this week. Thanks Mr. Dog. You are most kind. Also — I share your love of porridge. To the max.

Smurfydog
I’d like to nom porridge for being awesome. (Om nom nom)!
But really, I’d like to nominate @weresmurf for his (her?) article comments.
They are frequently constructive and insightful, and that is what the Kotaku community is all about.
Also, bonus noms for awesome Smurfs reference in his/her username! 😛

Ah yes. Porridge. Your oats make me happy, as do noms. Lovely delicious noms.

I’ve always known that we’ve had one of the most generous communities of all time here at Kotaku. I’ve been on the receiving end of so many incredible gestures from you all; it’s utterly ridiculous really. In a really, really good way.

It seems as though both Freeze and Shane have been at it again — being great human beings. Just another bloody week on Kotaku then!

AlexPants
My noms for the week:
– The Obligatory Cake Nom
– Shane and Freeze, who are currently in some kind of bizarre competition to be the most generous person in TAY. They’re great guys, even when down on their own luck they always have someone else in mind, and that’s really cool.
– #35, for refusing to let anyone else buy any drinks ever despite how much money is thrown at him.

Shane was also mentioned in Tigerion’s noms. Also — Dad jokes. I’m going to need them now. Need to brush up on my terrible Dad jokes.

Tigerion
Both @redartifice and @inquisitorsz for the detailed and helpful advice provided to greenman when asking for assistance in the quest to join the working drones

@Shane’s wife for making him throw out all his trash leading to a collection of treasures being claimed by assorted taybies.

The pun buddy/dad joke club with bonus mention to @freezespreston for starting this thread and @shane for true dedication to the cause.

Not only did Shane take the time to do all those nice things mentioned by AlexPants, but he also took time out to send in a nomination for, yep. You guessed it. Freeze. COME ON GUYS STOP BEING SO NICE!

(Please don’t stop being nice.)

Shane
I just have one nom to drop this week: for @freezespreston. He has apparently placed an order and entirely paid for Dark Souls II in my name at my local EB Games.

Why? Because he’s insane and awesome.

You know, that really is a genuinely beautiful gesture, especially since I know what a big Dark Souls fan Shane is.

And the love continues…

Red Artifice
I’d like to nominate the serial-nice-guy Shane- his week long game giveaway has been great- what a generous guy!

I’d also like to nominate BDKIAF (which I invite you to invent whatever you think it stands for). Dude’s a frequently insightful contributor to TAY convos and has Archer as his avatar. ARCHER!

And finally, I really like this nomination from Strange. I like her noms because she typically rewards a good comment, or something completely random that people might have missed. In short: she uses her powers for good!

Strange
This week I am nominating @cayal for Kudos because of this amusing exchange. Also for calling me Madam. 😛

-Madam Strange.

Okay dokey everyone. I’m finding it hard to separate both Shane and Freeze this week, and the thing is — they’ll probably just give their prizes to each other anyway.

So congrats to both of you for winning this week’s Community Kudos!

Disclaimer — I’m am really bad at sending stuff out, I have a list, I haven’t forgotten, I’m totally getting round to it. Sorry everyone!
