It’s been a while since I’ve stumped everyone, so I’m pretty chuffed! No-one managed to correctly guess Friday’s ScribbleTaku, do I’m dropping a clue today…
And that clue is…
Melbourne
I’ll bet it’s way too easy now!
ScribbleTaku is Kotaku’s newest lunchtime game. We give ourselves 30 seconds to draw an old game on a sticky note, and it’s your job to guess what it is! Come back every day at noon for a new ScribbleTaku! Feel like sending one in? Shoot us an email here.

The hobbit?
You got it. I got a Hobbit vibe from this on Friday but I couldn’t find a screenshot so thought it must have been something else.
Still can’t find a linkable pic, but it’s there in some galleries.

For some reason I thought it was smaugs lair – from the pic below it was the trolls cave. Yeah. I had an inkling the other day but the clue was a giveaway. Great games. The Lord of the rings pt1 was my favourite. You even got the novels in the box. Not a pdf the whole bloody Unwin publication.
My first thought was The Hobbit when I saw the clue (Melbourne’s most famous developer: Melbourne House. Melbourne House’s most famous game: The Hobbit), but I dismissed it because I (having not played it before) thought it was pure text based like Zork. However the picture below shows rudimentary graphics to go with the text based gaming.
The opening graphic of the hobbits ‘hole’ is actually quite iconic.
Their most famous game would probably be – the way of the exploding fist.
Shadowrun
…
Or Cricket PS3
Pony Trail?
Krush Kill N Destroy?
I’m pretty sure that it’s not Aussie Rules Football unfortunately, despite all the hours I spent hearing such audio gems as “Out of Bounds. On The Full.” (I’m still astonished that they managed to do such a decent Aussie Rules sim in that day and age).
The. Dig. \o/.
Biker Mice from Mars
In all honesty i thought the drawing was just really bad. turns out it was the game itself! sheesh!
It’s annoyingly familiar. I have an inkling that its the game over screen to something.
KKnD?
EDIT: Oh, Looks like it’s the Hobbit then.
