This Is A 90's PlayStation JRPG, Only New (And For The PC)

Soul Saga is described by its developers as "A love letter to J-RPG classics from the Playstation era like Final Fantasy, Breath of Fire, Suikoden, and Persona."

Which means, in case you hadn't got that far on your own yet, some Westerners are looking for money on Kickstarter to make a new "classic" JRPG.

Most of the development work is actually being handled by just one guy, Mike Gale, and other games he cites as inspiration are Chrono Trigger and especially Final Fantasy X.

He's looking to release the game on PC, and there's a big rundown of the planned universe - and mechanics - on the Kickstarter page.

Looks exactly like the main character of FF: Tactics advance

Character looks inspired by Marche from FFTA, and by inspired I mean copied.

Copied, Inspired... it's all the same =P

And the robot's heavily influence by Robo from Chrono Trigger.

But as long as they produce a good game, I'm not worried. Had this popped up on the iOS App Store, I'd have probably written it off as a Square rip-off, but this looks far more like a labour of love, so I'm more than happy to grant the benefit of the doubt.

oh, definitely agreed if a game is good then that is fine, just sayin' :P

Awh, Kickstarter? Phooey. I'm kind of fatigued on people asking for my money for something which is only going to come out in 2-3 years. Oh well. The price of supporting indies and such...

It's kind of like the gaming equivalent of recycling and making sure you switch all your lights off and shit.
