Ever since the first Iron Man movie, there’s been an expectation about the post-credit sequences that pop up at the end of superhero films. And, yes, there’s one at the end of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. It’s a little different, though. You might even call it a crossover. Here’s your spoiler warning.
See, once the names stop scrolling up the screen in the Marc Webb-directed Spider-sequel, it’s not Peter Parker who shows up. The stinger for Amazing Spider-Man 2 stars mutants from X-Men: Days of Future Past, another Marvel movie franchise which, like Spider-Man, isn’t part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The Spider-Man films are produced by Sony and X-Men movies get made by 20th Century Fox. Longtime fans know that the difference in rights-holders for Spidey and the X-Men means that those two series aren’t going to link up with movies starring Captain America, Thor, Iron Man or the Avengers. Still, it’s something of a surprise that any post-credits action hypes up entirely separate films. So, courtesy of IGN, enjoy Jennifer Lawrence kicking the butts of some flatscan soldiers as Mystique. Maybe they could actually do Spider-Man/X-Men crossover in superhero film land?

Or you could read that artical of how Marc Webb owed a favor to Fox and that how/why this happened.
(as per update #2)

I believe this has already been explained and debunked elsewhere?
True, Webb basically wanted some leeway on some contract obligations so he offered to shill their big movie free of charge.
Which also explains why the DofP clip was completely out of place in the credits, both tonally and narratively. Unless anyone can explain why the Spider-man universe suddenly flashbacked to some mutants in the goddamn 70s.
The Green Goblin kidnapped Mystique in the last scene.
So many likes.
This isn’t happening. It’s a contractual obligation and that’s all, there’s no mixed universe *yet*. One day but not yet…
HOWEVER
Spiderman DID appear in the first Xmen movie once upon a time….
