There’s a move at the end of this character reveal that made me wince and go “Ooooh….” Quan Chi, I’ve always hated you.
After teasing series creator Ed Boon teased Mortal Kombat fans for two days on Twitter, a new video reveals the return of the fighting game franchise’s demonic necromancer to the upcoming Mortal Kombat X. The clips shows off the different skills in Quan Chi’s Variations. I particularly like the way that his teleport moves make it seem like his arms and legs are really disappearing and reappearing inside of the dimensional rifts. And, by like, I mean I know I’m going to hate getting nailed by those moves. And the bit that looks like the beginning of a Fatality… just super-insulting.

The character animation in this game looks so good.
It may very well be what tips me over into Next-Gen, unless the PC version’s release date is going to be in line with the consoles!
There is no upcoming game I am more excited for than this – and it’s looking like the sole reason I will purchase a next gen console.
That fatality teaser at the end … my god.
Hmmm, they didn’t cover the Warlock variation in the video. Still, yeah pumped for this. Might be the game that finally convinces me to get a PS4.
Watch it again. The bit with the portals is the warlock.
I haven’t bought a MK game since 4. God damn I’m excited for this!!
Me either, MK4 on PSX was awesome! I remember being pretty good with Quan Chi back in the day, I imagine I would be awful now days hah. I keep meaning to buy MK9, it’s always on sale for $5 on steam… one day lol.
