The First Five Minutes Of Parallax, First-Person Portal Puzzler

The First Five Minutes Of Parallax, First-Person Portal Puzzler

Traversing portals to solve puzzles split between two worlds, one black and white, the other white and black? Sounds like a simple enough concept to grasp in five minutes.

Toasty Games’ Parallax, launched this week on Steam, is a $US10 puzzle game with sharp style and a game mechanic borrowed from the grandparents of the first-person puzzle game. Here’s the official description from the game’s Steam page:

Parallax is a first-person puzzle game with two overlapping worlds. Weave back and forth between black and white as you try to be in the right place, in the right dimension, at the right time. Use switches, boosters and gravity to help you reach the exit. Can you conquer every mind-bending level?

Sometimes I spot a game on Steam and snatch it up based on looks alone. I see those looks and raise you 1/12th of an hour.
