The most noteworthy game releasing this week is a remastering of a Nintendo Wii game for the new 3DS. All the other big games are down in Orlando getting their spring break on.
That’s not to say there aren’t some fine titles coming out this week. It’s just to say I am off this week, and I’m spending the next seven days napping heavily between bouts of Xenoblade Chronicles 3D.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3D is already out in Australia and Europe
Yeah, it released last Thursday here. I picked up a copy when I went to buy Darks Souls II: Scholar Of The First Sin.
It’s a US release list, not an AU one.
I should get around to playing Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii. Every time I plan to jump into it something comes up and I get distracted. I really need to rectify that, although I doubt I’ll finish it before Xenoblade Chronicles X comes out.
In other news, Affordable Space Adventures sounds like a fun time.
I’m pretty pissed there are now games I can’t play on the 3DS becuase I don’t have the newest model….. really lame nintendo….. but I still love you
After playing some of the new Xenoblade, I now believe them 100% when they say it can’t run on the old console. It’s the most hardware-taxing 3DS game I’ve seen, some of it almost feels squashed on a handheld, especially the menu and text.
oh im sure they are correct, im just a little upset that the games they want to release on 3DS cant be unless they upgrade the console.
Notch it up to Nintendo’s terrible future-proofing of hardware in order to drive costs down and make a profit from each console. The Wii’s paltry memory was a big pain point for developers, ditto with the first 3DS. Xenoblade is the first game where I’m really feeling the poor resolution of the screen, some of it is incredibly blurry. If Nintendo put a better display in the thing (comparable to phones from 2011, it wouldn’t have this problem 4 years down the line).
I disagree, it looks muddy and hurts my eyes where the res is so low and it’s hardly fast paced. The draw isn’t anything special and tbh I find the game over hyped. After 14 hours I can honestly say the only interesting battle was the tentacle boss that caught JuJu. The rest is as dull as dishwater. Returning it.
Aww, nothing for me here. I would pick up Xenoblade but I don’t have a new 3DS just yet…
Personally I just want Splatoon and Mario Maker to hurry up.
Oh, no wonder this list seemed odd, this isn’t the Australian Week In Games, it’s the American one. A lot of these titles are either already out or have no EU release date yet.
