The Last of Us has an incredible soundtrack. Gustavo Santaolalla’s score really gets to the heart of the game: it’s not about zombies and scares, it’s about horses and the road, and the music reflects that.
It’s a must-have already, then, but in this package it’s just ungh. Artists Olly Moss and Hay Shaw teamed up with Mondo to put together this 4xLP pack that includes the main game’s soundtrack along with the score to Left Behind.
It will be $US75, and is out on Wednesday. I will buy it just to look at the packaging.

It looks so good, but man, 75 bucks, yikes. I want to see more pictures of the artwork.
Yeah, bit steep. For that kind of money I’d be more inclined to buy the art book for the game and the original soundtrack – would probably come to about the same amount of money.
But man, I do love this soundtrack… sits alongside Journey as my favourite game soundtracks ever.
does it come with a digital copy of the soundtrack as well?
I don’t know how to feel about all these vinyl releases of movie and video game soundtracks.
Young people are paying a pretty penny for vinyl these days. So naturally, there is going to be market saturation. But like everything it will all go away soon enough.
I literally finished the game about 10 minutes ago, and as the music played during the credits, I thought to myself, “Man, I’d love to have this on vinyl.”
That wasn’t sarcasm, that happened literally 10 MINUTES AGO.
And then I came onto Kotaku, and saw this article.
Was it your first time playing the game? If so, how’d you like it?
I still get a bit teary when the first few bars of The Path (A New Beginning) start playing, something about that light ambient acoustic guitar hits me right in the feels
It was actually my third time playing it. I’m ashamed to admit, I was a lot dumber when I played originally on the PS3, and I didn’t actually enjoy it. The PS4 version came with a bundle I bought at the end of last year. I replayed it, and loved it. I now classify it as one of my all-time favourite games.
I have a heart of stone, and I can hardly hold myself together near the end. Such great gameplay and story, even though Grounded difficultly is as hard as shit.
The Remastered edition does wonders for the enjoyability of the game I think, even having played through the PS3 version multiple times.
Aww man, I need this if only for the artwork. But goddamn, it’ll probably end up being just shy of $150 inc. postage at this rate.
