Briefly: Overwatch‘s beta is taking a break. At 4:00am on December 11 AEDT Blizzard’s team-based shooter will go offline for an “extended” period. The break is temporary; the beta will return in mid-to-late January. Blizzard plans to use the time to make improvements to the core game and work on features like spectating and progression.

Technically indefinitely can be an unstated amount of time rather than permanently. Still a dick move given most people would interpret it as permanent.
Mid to late January definitely isn’t indefinitely 😛
