Sven Co-op, the now 17-year-old Half-Life co-op mod, is getting its standalone Steam release on January 22 — this Friday. It will launch as a free download with several maps, including the original Half-Life campaign, reworked for the mod’s newest version.
First announced in winter 2013, this Steam release also marks the arrival of the 5.0 version of Sven Co-op. What does that get you? Let the trailer show you:
Apart from co-op Half-Life, there’s 17 years’ worth of custom maps in a variety of game modes to choose from. You can also make your own maps with the included tools, and eventually you’ll be able to share them on the Steam Workshop. Not to mention the new weapons, NPCs and the improved AI and new physics system. For a free download, that’s not bad.
Sven Co-op will be available on Steam here, on Friday.

Had me at different coloured crowbars.
Synergy has been available through Steam for about 10 years, does this. No coloured crowbars though. Free too.

I didn’t even know this was still around. I remember playing this, Natural Selection and The Specialists all the time in the early 2000’s. Great Mods
I wish there was a more modern version of Vampire Hunter that isn’t Nosgoth.
Oh man, I remember playing Vampire Slayer for hours after school back in Year 12. I’d forgotten how much fun it was.
this is not the half life you are looking for
man, I used to play Sven a lot back when it was popular.
