Be Very Afraid, The Amnesia Collection Arrives On PS4 November 22nd

Be very afraid, The Amnesia Collection arrives on PlayStation 4 November 22nd. Collecting Amnesia: The Dark Descent, the Amnesia: Justine DLC and sequel Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, the horror compilation should have been released in time for Halloween. Maybe they just forgot.

  • This is…..weird.

Amnesia 1 will probably be pilloried, it is a great game, but it’s a product of another time and place. Everybody should play it, but there’s a lot of elements I can think off that might not translate now.

Machine For Pigs was Amnesia done by Walking Simulator folk. I hate that term but it’s Chinese Room’s MO throughout. Play it first, I’d say. The end credit song is the best part.

The “Justine” news is exciting, however. Amnesia’s (original) devs got together with other PC focused teams and put out ‘Portal 2’ themed supplemental material and got featured by Valve/Steam.

Justine in this case refers to a GladOS-type character in an off-shoot story kinda like the Bioshock DLCs. She talks to you through a grammophone-type device.

    It’s also perma-death.

    I never finished it.

Get it, play them all, and decide for yourself.

    • I hope it isn’t pilloried. It could happen because so may games have taken it’s basic format (run and hide) that it might not feel as fresh as it did when it was released, but few of the imitators ever truly understood what made that work, submitting soulless copies that could never had the same impact (Greenlight is full of them).

I didn’t even know there was DLC, thanks for the detail, going to have to hunt that down.

Spot on summary of A Machine For Pigs, too. It’s not as bad as people say it is, but it is nowhere near as good.
