In modern Pokémon games, there is only a 1 in 4,096 chance you’ll find a monster in a special colouring. People can spend hours, days, weeks, sometimes even years searching for shiny Pokémon to no avail. Here’s what happens when you get a legendary shiny on your first try.
I’d suggest turning down your volume before pressing play.
You’re watching shiny hunter Dan “aDrive” Clap, who you might remember as the YouTuber who kicked arse in a Pokémon tournament a couple of months back:
This time aDrive racked up another win by encountering a shiny Palkia immediately after setting out to do so. Awesome. This is probably the closest 2017 will get to recreating the spirit of that infamous shiny Ponyta encounter from way back.
You can follow aDrive on YouTube here, or on Twitch here.

I’m endeared by his childlike enthusiasm. I only wish more people could openly show as much energy and glee for the things they love.
That feeling!
I dislike the Sun and Moon shiny animation though, have to say.
I still to this day have never encountered a wild shiny.
I got my first in Sun and Moon with Ditto and freaked out!
Prior to this I believe I saw a shiny in Silver with a Noctowl but didn’t realise what it was or catch it ?
