That Spiritual Successor To Theme Hospital Drops August 30

Here’s a very quick, but important, PSA for all the Theme Hospital nostalgics out there.

Developers Two Point Studios have announced that their spiritual successor to Theme Hospital, Two Point Hospital will be dropping on August 30. It won’t be released in Early Access, a new FAQ says, and it’ll support PC, Mac and Linux at launch.

Minimum specs for the game are pretty low as well, and the developers noted separately that “we expect the game to work as a minimum on Intel HD 640 onboard graphics cards”. (That’s the onboard graphics that shipped with some Kaby Lake CPUs last year – anyone with a more recent CPU will likely have the HD 650 or better.)

OS: Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core i3 6100 or equivalent AMD
Memory: 4GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 1 GB or ATI Radeon HD 6850 1 GB
Storage: 6GB available space

For a bigger breakdown of gameplay, the developers livestreamed around 90 minutes of gameplay on YouTube earlier this morning. You can watch all of that below.

  • I remember playing the original and never hiring doctors that smelt faintly like cabbage because I read it as garbage.

  • This is the most excited I have been for a game all year! I played the shit out of theme hospital.

    • Agree, while running around like a manic with a gun is fun sometimes I just need something with a slower pace, sucks that good sim games are harder to find these days.

  • Ohhh new trailer. I wonder how many time we will watch this in a row
Turtle head is the best illness and apparently light headedness is hilarious

  • I still play the original, mainly the ps1 rom on a handheld i have. Great game. I am so pumped for this reboot and none of my friends understand why.
