This Week In Games: The Yakuza Has Forsaken You

And then there was … disco lights. One of the best games of last year hits the PC this week, Yakuza 0. And there’s a ton of interesting indies around that too: Hellblade gets a VR port, Forsaken arises from the annals of history thanks to a Night Dive remaster, and Sam Barlow’s latest game comes to Xbox.

Below are the major titles that I could find listed on retailer and digital marketplaces that are coming to Australia this week:

  • Metal Fatigue (PC)
  • Code of Princess EX (Switch)
  • Forsaken Remastered (PC)
  • Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice (Rift/Vive)
  • Hentai Battle Royale (PC)
  • Chasm (PC, PS4)
  • Regular Human Basketball (PC)
  • La-Mulana 2 (PC)
  • This is the Police 2 (PC, PS4, XBO, Switch)
  • Roving In The Dark (PC)
  • Yakuza 0 (PC)
  • Rend (PC)
  • I Am Your President (PC)
  • #Wargames (XBO)
  • Castaway Paradise (XBO)
  • Armored Warfare (XBO)
  • Jump Gunners (XBO)
  • Zazmo Arcade Pack (XBO)
  • Titan Quest (Switch)
  • State of Anarchy: Master of Mayhem (Switch)
  • 1979 Revolution: Black Friday (Switch)
  • Flat Heroes (Switch)
  • Iconoclasts (Switch)
  • Road to Ballhalla (Switch)
  • Picross 2 (Switch)
  • Salt and Sanctuary (Switch)
  • Guns, Gore and Cannoli 2 (Switch)
  • Not a Hero (Switch)
  • Eekeemoo Splinters of the Dark Shard (Switch)
  • Flat Heroes (Switch)

Oy vey. Quite the week of releases.

Let’s start with Bitkid’s Chasm. It’s a gorgeous 2D platformer that should be right up the alley of anyone who enjoyed Shovel Knight or procedurally generated platformers.

Staying on the platformer trend, Iconoclasts is a colourful adventure featuring the mechanic Robin and a wealth of puzzles and boss fights to navigate. Very neat Metroidvania, this.

And if that’s not enough Metroidvania action, how about La-Mulana 2?

Rend is a little different. It’s from some World of Warcraft alumni, and it’s billed as an open-world survival adventure in a Nordic land. “Players choose among three rival factions, combine forces to build their faction’s stronghold, and battle foes and brutal creatures.”

Oh and by the way, there’s a Forsaken remaster. (It’s on Xbox, but I couldn’t see it on the Australian store this morning.) I need this immediately.

Reminds me that I still need to get around to playing that Descent spiritual successor, too.

Anyway, that’s some of what’s out this week. See anything you like?
