Qantas Is Having A Japan Sale Tonight [All Over]

Want to go to Japan? Been and want to go again? Then you might be interested in Qantas's flash sale.

The airliner is having an eight-hour sale - from 1600 AEST to midnight - on flights to at least Tokyo and Osaka, although Qantas does fly direct to other locations.

Update: Some of the deals have gone live, and they're pretty good prices:

Times available include: Sat 11 May 2019 - Wed 19 Jun 2019 (for Sydney to Osaka), Sat 11 May 2019 - Wed 19 Jun 2019 (to Tokyo, Narita), Tue 14 May 2019 - Tue 11 Jun 2019 (to Tokyo, Haneda). You'll need to go into each deal individually for exact flights and times - just change the filters for your departure city and preferred flight times.

More deals and exact times around the flights will become available from 1600 AEST tonight, and I'll update the post then with some specifics on flight times and other locations. Head here for more details.

Of course this is a week after I book my flights to Tokyo...

Went last November booked on an app that I'm not sure I am allowed to name, dep Gold Coast to Narita flying with JetStar for around $450 return.

When I booked there were multiple city's with similar pricing the most was $600.

Not sure what best time is to go but November was cheap, the deals were from mid October through to start December.

Don't go for flash sales or deals less than a month away, plan your trip.

I booked 3-4 months in advance, (had to for work reasons) just plan when you want to go.

Say you want to go in November start looking at flights around June and you will get great deals over the few months leading up to your chosen date.

Damn. And I just spent $900 on return tickets to Alice Springs

I think I'll hope for deals at different times.
All the best deals are either too soon for me to get the time off I'd want or in the middle of summer.
I've heard Japan in summer can be kind of the worst time to visit.

I've been there 3 times and it's always been around late July / early August (most recent trip I just got back from last week). It is pretty gross - very hot and very, very humid. Although this time we went up north to Hokkaido for a few days. Once we got up around Sapporo and Furano it was significantly cooler than Tokyo (by about 5 - 10 degrees C) and the humidity wasn't nearly as bad.

Worst time of the year to visit. Really unpleasant from June until October if you hate Australian summers then you will hate this 100x more. Nov to late April is best time.
