Audica Looks Like Beat Sabre With Guns

When it comes to VR and mixed reality, rhythm games have always translated over well. And Harmonix, who know their way around a beat, unveiled a new mixed reality title this morning that looks a little like Beat Sabre with guns.

The trailer below gives you kind of an indication of the style of rhythm game: you’ll use the VR controllers to point and shoot at certain targets, while other ones will have you making long slicing motions (like you’re firing an automatic pistol) or double-handed slashes like you’re holding a sword.

I wouldn’t buy a VR headset just for this – top-of-the-line VR is still expensive as all hell – but if I had one, this is definitely the sort of game I’d be keen on.

Audica launches in early access on March 7, supporting Steam VR and Oculus Rift headsets. More information can be found on the official Steam page.
