The opening scene of Skyrim has – whether for the reasons Todd Howard and his team wanted or not – become one of the most recognisable in all of videogaming. As you wind your seemingly endless way through the countryside around Helgen, the game’s first line – “Hey, you. You’re finally awake,” acts as your introduction to Bethesda’s enormous RPG.
Historic as that line is, one fan thought it would be even better if, instead of introducing you to Skyrim, it was part of your introduction to the day. Last night, Reddit user o0PETER0o posted a photo to the Elder Scrolls subreddit (via PC Gamer) of a pillow case he’d made for his friend. Upon that case is a screenshot of that immortal line and the man who delivered it, your unfortunate travel-buddy Ralof.
Ignoring the fact that in order to wake up to his suggestion that “you’re finally awake,” you would also need to go to sleep upon the pillow, it’s an inspired gift. Let’s just hope that the case’s recipient has better fortunes than Ralof and his travel-buddies.
