Publisher Sega will release a sequel to Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing this Christmas. Toys associated with the franchise were displayed in a booth at the Toy Fair in New York this Sunday, where an attendant confirmed that Sega is making a sequel to the franchise-crossing kart racing game. There will be new characters and vehicles revealed later this year.

Had a feeling this was coming, but still, YESSSSS!
S&SAR was one of my absolute favourite games from this last generation, and I actually preferred it over all the MK Wii and MK 3DS.
Cannot wait.

Agreed!
I always considered it somewhat ironic that the best MarioKart game available for the Wii was Sega’s knockoff – fixing so many issues with everything from intuitive boosting systems to progression/unlocks and fairer weapon balance! (also cross-platform availability)

I believe he was, though you had to unlock him with SEGA Miles, the in-game currency you can only earn by completing races and so on.

Great game and if you don’t own a Wii is a great alternative to Mario Kart –
Needs more characters next outing – Banjo Kazooie was a cool addition – but needs less Sonic characters and more games that people have heard of rather than that Billy Hatcher and that Haunted Mansion game neither of which I’d ever heard of before playing all stars.

Billy Hatcher made for some cool courses. And Haunted Mansion was based on House of the Dead… another set of awesome courses.
Also, we need NiGHTS. NiGHTS and/or Claris and Elliot as playable characters and courses. NiGHTS is a big part of the SEGA Legacy, and needs proper representation this time around.

Im sure this has been done to death, but it seems pretty obligatory at this stage so here goes.
Why does Sonic even need to drive a car?
Okay, now that i got that out of my system this looks like it could be good.
