While we’ve seensome of Star Wars 1313, the now-cancelled big-money Star Wars game in development at Lucasarts before Disney took over, today we’re getting to see a lot more of what was planned for the title courtesy of some concept art.
It gives us a real good look at the look, and feel, of Coruscant’s seedy underbelly. I love the “mouth of hell” effect the opening to the surface gives, as well as the constant small touches, like the Falcon sitting on a launch pad (no clue if it’s just an artistic touch or if Han really had a part in the game…since it starred a younger Boba Fett though, it might have!)
This is all the work of Gustavo Mendonca, who helped out on the game, and has also worked with clients like Warner Bros., Coke, Nike, Universal and Capcom. He now works at Microsoft’s 343 Studios on, well, you know what those guys do.
You can see more of Gustavo’s work at his personal site (thanks CAW!)

Surprisingly strong Blade Runner and Deus Ex: HR vibe from these.
I LOVE IT
man this game looks awesome i hope disneyxstarwars have something like this planned for next gen or at least something similar
I wish somebody had the money and resources to pick up this game 🙁 At least Battlefront III got picked up 🙂
Battlefront and now this? THANKS GUISE
Erm.. Battlefront is coming did you not see the teaser, check your pigeon hole, you’re well out of the loop.
Yet more to depress me, along side the fact that the final Star Wars game that LucasArts released before closure was “Star Wars Angry Birds”.
It’s a Star Wars EU product which means it will shoe-horn in references to other SW properties to make the universe seem as small and uninteresting as possible, and I say this as a long-suffering fan. Why do you think virtually every galactic event within a 100 year window seems to involve the same people? Partly fanservice, but also for new fans who can immediately associate the product with Star Wars, plus it saves them inventing more fiction for a new world.
It’s the reason Hoth shows up as the token snow world in every Star Wars game, regardless of era. Considering the number of world-changing battles fought there, it should be Normandy + Thermopylae + Agincourt… times a million, but it’s also somehow a frozen backwater world even the Imperials could barely remember. As much as it kills me this game was cancelled, I’m sure Luke and Wedge would have popped up at some point for no reason other than “Ohhh, it’s Luke!”
Hate to rain on everyone’s parade but concept art != final game. Look at any recent game’s concept art and they show sprawling beautiful landscapes; then the game is released and it’s merely a series of small corridors and rooms.
Pains me to look at; like you’re wavering money in front of my that I can’t grab :C
And the game was ready to go… until George Lucas took an interest in it and ran it into the ground.
Have to agree with you. Turning it into a Boba Fett video game made me lose interest.
