Intricate Sword And Board Combat Meets Castlevania-esque Dungeons

Intricate Sword And Board Combat Meets Castlevania-esque Dungeons

That’s Shadowcrypt in a nutshell. On the surface, there’s not much to this indie side-scroller. You have your undead-filled catacombs, your evil Necromancer, your traps and mazes, and you have random treasure. It’s all very familiar, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s bad.

See here:

It looks tight. The developer describes the game as “elegantly simple”; a design philosophy that’s reflected in the text-light and gameplay-heavy trailer too, whereas Shadowcrypt itself seems like a very distilled, barebones hack and slash experience. Personally, I think that’s lovely.

The game will be released on PC in a couple of weeks. Its website is currently under construction, so look to its IndieDB page for updates.
