As much as I loved Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, I think I’m ready to be completely surprised by Assassin’s Creed again; ready to have it feel a little bit different. It was difficult to tell from early trailers just how much had changed for Assassin’s Creed: Unity, but this 11 minute gameplay demo gives us a better insight into exactly what we’ll be doing differently in this game.
I think what excites me most about Unity is the was missions evolve organically on the fly. It sort of highlights a more refined version of that ‘investigation’ mechanic that was prevalent in the first game. Plenty of people didn’t like the first Assassin’s Creed, but I really enjoyed the more open-ended way you could approach assassinations. Assassin’s Creed: Unity appears to feature a more refined version of that concept.
But still. Tailing missions huh? They still exist it seems.
Man, I don’t hate those missions as much as others do. I actually don’t mind them normally! Tailing people, surely, is a major part of being an Assassin, and it looks like Unity provides players with better tools with which to sneak around.
