My only question is: why did it take so long? The crossover between Doctor Who fans and Minecraft fans must be astronomical.
According to the BBC — and they should know — Doctor Who characters will be coming to Minecraft on the Xbox 360 this coming September. It will feature the current Doctor, the overwhelmingly Scottish Peter Capaldi, alongside five other Doctors, their companions and — of course — the Daleks.
The first pack will cost you $2.95 of your Australian earth dollars, and more packs are apparently on the way featuring other Doctors and some of the other famous antagonists from the show.
“We’re constantly looking for new and innovative ways to bring Doctor Who content to our loyal fans,” explained Rikesh Desai, Digital Entertainment and Games Director at BBC Worldwide UK. “Working collaboratively with Microsoft, we’ve created an exciting new product which will allow Doctor Who fans to create their own brand new adventures in the heart of the iconic world of Minecraft.”
This seems like a pretty big deal. Doctor Who already has a loyal fanbase that spans across all ages. Minecraft is similar. I can see plenty of Minecraft fans getting into Doctor Who, and vice versa, as a result of this deal.

My avatar has been the 11th Doctor for quite some time on PC.
Ouch. PC players can change their skin to anything, anytime, and for free.
Although I see some of the skins change the shape of the character, so that’s new I guess.
Peter Capaldi. Peter Capaldi everywhere!
Anyhow the amount of people making Tardisses. Tardi? Tardis? on MC is
overwhealming.
TARDIS is an acronym, so there isn’t any proper plural.
Oh crap, thanks to this dlc, we have MORE nightmare fuel to deal with in minecraft now. So creepers & endermen weren’t enough, they had to give us daleks that can 1HKO people & the dreaded weeping angels, which are statues that you have to keep an eye on
Just when you think the internet could not get any more saturated with Dr. Who.
