Not sure if this can be topped, but supposedly, over a thousand people in Xiamen, China gathered to dump ice on their heads in the name of ALS research. This, wait for it, throws cold water on the previous record.
According to Guinness World Records, 428 people simultaneously dumped ice water on their head on August 23 in St. Augustine, Florida. The event was for Florida’s chapter of the ALS Association, and until recently, it was the World Record. Here’s what it looked like:
NetEase (via ShanghaiIst) reports that over a thousand people in Xiamen dumped ice water on their heads at the same time, destroying that several week-old record. Likewise, this was for ALS research, and participants were required to donated 100 yuan or around $US16 to take part, with these fees donated to ALS research. No word yet if Guinness has varied the stunt.
As you can see in these NetEase photos, here’s what apparently over a thousand people dumping ice water on their heads looks like:

Well at least the were doing it at a beach instead of wasting water around a pool.
*shudder* those Chinese pool photos that were posted here a while back.
Yeah I thought that, but I couldn’t of been bothered to re-write it lol.
