The answer to that question, folks, is “no”. Unless you managed to acquire a copy via a retailer that’s broken the game’s street date, in which case, good news everybody! And by everybody, I mean those people who are playing Just Cause 3 right now. You know who you are.
Developer Avalanche, who I’m sure is well aware the early user reviews can sink a game these days, has decided not to hold back on the Just Cause 3 patch front, despite the title’s official release date being 1 December.
Instead, it’ll have an update out “within the next 24 hours” for all three platforms: Xbox One, PC and PS4.

strange that they are releasing the PC patch as well when its tied to steam and hasnt unlocked on PC yet
Its wise to patch PC because most people have it preloaded by now. So when launch day comes there wont be a day 1 patch
It might also help early review copies. Maybe not enough to significantly change scores.
Anyone else find it kinda cute how the opening patch notes are written as if they’re in game canon
Goddamn these companies and their day negative three patches! The games industry is doomed!!! /s
I can’t wait for people to cry this weekend when the press and streamer access is unlocked. Waaa! They can’t play 3 days early! Waaaaa!
It’s a shame the rest of us are forced to wait until Tuesday even with the patch available.
I guess I should just stay grateful it can be preloaded and will be ready to launch within a minute of release. Hopefully.
I go back to work Tuesday. So sad.
From what I’ve seen of this game, I really want to play it, but I never played Just Cause 2 that much. I got a little bored – mainly it was my OCD overwhelming me at the thought of doing everything (currently battling my mind in fallout 4). I wonder whether I need to go back to JC2 before JC3? Or just forget the other games in the series existed, and (eventually) play JC3.
it’ll be good, and smart move for Xbox to release JC2 fo’ free with any JC3 purchase!
Will it be available Tuesday, or will it actually be Wednesday Local OZ time?
