Pokemon GO fans will soon be able to enjoy “daily bonuses” that reward you for playing the game on consecutive days.
While there’s no specific ETA just yet, Niantic outlined how daily quests will work as follows:
Trainers will soon be able to receive a bonus for certain daily activities, including catching a Pokemon or visiting a PokeStop once a day. You’ll earn a larger bonus if you do this seven days in a row!
Catching a Pokemon every day will earn the following bonus:
- 500 XP
- 600 Stardust
Catching a Pokemon every day for 7 days straight will earn the following larger bonus:
- 2,000 XP
- 2,400 Stardust
Visiting a PokeStop and spinning the Photo Disc every day will earn the following bonus:
- 500 XP
- A number of additional items
Visiting a PokeStop every day for 7 days straight will earn the following larger bonus:
- 2,000 XP
- A greater number of additional items
If you catch a Pokemon at any time on Tuesday local time, you’ll be eligible for the next daily bonus on Wednesday at 12 AM local time.
It’s a good step that will incentive people to play more often, sure, but it probably won’t be as effective as just putting tracking in the game. Maybe one day…

A much welcomed addition
Tracking is already in the game. What’s so hard to understand about the hot and cold list? It’s the same as before, there are just no footprints. Sigh.
“hot and cold list”? The Sightings section is not sorted in any way. Closest Pokemon are not placed first, nor furthest Pokemon placed last.
I’d agree that the “sightings” list works as well as “nearby” did immediately before the change. But that’s because tracking was broken then too.
You’ve been playing the game long enough (maybe even from the beta?) that you should remember when you could semi-accurately triangulate on a particular pokemon?
Too little too late now, Hallowen thing is over, farming ghost types have finished, don’t really feel like playing again …
