Well, it’ll probably be a lot of indie and tabletop games.
That’s the standard for PAX Australia, after all. I’ll be working from the show floor for the next three days, wandering various booths, hiding in the meeting room, and chatting to anyone and everyone. Including you, if you’re around! I won’t have a sign on my forehead or anything, but if you recognise me (or want to find out where I am), just ping me on Twitter or something. I’m friendly.
As for the things I know I’m already going to be playing:
- That Omni VR treadmill thing: seems way too gimmicky, which means I’ll probably love the hell out of it.
- Dawn of War 3: it’s playable on the show floor. Fuck yeah.
- Lots of board games: there’s quite a few I’d like to try before I buy, although it’ll be interesting to see whether stuff like Mechs & Minions and the new Blood Bowl will make an appearance.
- Element: it’s a cool looking RTS pitched at people who don’t have the time to play RTS anymore. From memory, anyway. The genre could use a bit of a revival beyond just becoming a variant of a MOBA.
That’s not the whole list, of course, but you’ll find out more about that in the coming days and weeks.
If I wasn’t at PAX, I’d be keen on checking out the new Call of Duty campaign if I was at home, but alas I’m not. Probably would be that or some more Crucible in Destiny at this stage, as there doesn’t seem to be a huge base for Titanfall 2 (on PC or PS4, miserably).
So, what are you playing this weekend?

Deus Ex Human Revolution Director’s Cut (PS3) going for platinum. Just got my pacifist run to finish.
Nearing platinum on Hatsune Miku Project Diva X on Vita (just got to max Len and Kaito friendships and get a couple of events)
If I were playing Valkyrie Drive Bhikkhuni on Vita I’d probably be up to Chapter 2 or so.
With the announcement of United Front Games closing i have decided to play through again and platinum Sleeping Dogs as a sort of tribute.
World of Final Fantasy is mainly going to be taking up my time although I might play a few rounds of BlazBlue: Central Fiction.
I was looking at getting into BB! But I did just buy revelator… and that laundry list of mechanics is doing my head in.
BB is even more about story though, right? Can I jump in on CF or should I go back to something like calamity trigger?
Gonna try and push through Titanfall 2.
Might possibly replay the Titanfall 2 campaign to hunt collectibles, might try and spend some time with the multiplayer. If my wife wants to play Titanfall 2 instead, which I imagine is likely, I’ll probably play The Division or go back to Forza Horizon 3.
Rise of the Tomb Raider, maybe?
If I can be bothered to start it… Pre-purchased Pokémon Moon yesterday, and have it downloaded ready for the 18th… I’m loathe to start anything as I know I’ll drop it as soon as Pokémon releases.
which means I’ll play more Overwatch.Watch Dogs (the first one) just killed Iraq and the missions are getting noticeably harder also the tone of this game is a LOT darker than its sequel looks to be
Battlefield 1 operations. Man that’s a fun mode.
Titanfall 2. Caved and bought it on PC after finishing the campaign on Xbone and playing a fair amount of multiplayer on Xbone. I didn’t think it would improve my skill much but ran the gauntlet while waiting for the game to finish downloading and on my first run I got 40 seconds. I think my best on Xbone is 56 seconds.
Can’t stop playing Titanfall 2. I’m having a blast
Actually am planning to play through Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture again, as it’s free on PS+ this month. Am part of a Facebook group of people who get together and play the same game then come together to talk about it in depth – Rapture is a damn perfect pick for that kind of thing.
