Here’s A Total War Game With Vikings

Recently, Creative Assembly announced that the Total War series would be branching out a little more. And the first byproduct of that strategy: vikings.

Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia is, like the rest of the Total War franchise, a turn-based strategy game with RTS battles. Set in 878 AD, Thrones of Britannia focuses on the period after the battle of Edington.

Vikings are still settled throughout the British isles, but the area has basically become a free-for-all. You’ve got Welsh kings. Scottish leaders. English royalty. There’s the Irish. And, obviously, a ton of pissed off Vikings.

There’s no gameplay footage as of yet, although the major pointer with that is: this is a Total War game, so you can probably picture what the campaign map looks like in your head already.

A Total War game, with the modern innovations of the recent Warhammer games but none of the overpowered spells or zombies.

I’ve got a feeling people will be into that.
