That’s not to say I think it’s a bad franchise! Dirt 2 is one of the best racers around, especially if you can grab it on PC. But it just… doesn’t seem like the kind of series that has legions of people going, “Yeah, I love this stuff SO DAMN MUCH I’m going to spend THREE HUNDRED BUCKS on it!”
If you are, though, get a look at this! It’s a version of the upcoming racer being offered by GameStop that is listed at $US299.99. For that price, you get two things: a copy of Dirt 3 and a remote control car.
With Dirt 3 going for $US60 on its own, that’s an extra $US240 for the remote control car. That’s, uh, a ton of money.
Of course, this being a GameStop listing there’s no guarantee it’ll actually cost that much, so we’re checking with THQ just to be sure.

Friday, April 8, 2011 at 10:16 AMIs there a little speaker in the car so Ken Block can tell you how totally wicked sick you are whenever you are driving it?

Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 6:15 AMBuy the normal version of the game and get a Tamiya DF03-RA (http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=58417)
Essentially an off-road buggy with a touring car shell. It’ll probaly be more Rally compatible than the one you get with the game.
Yes it’s more expensive, but it’ll be better than the car they give you. Also in Brisbane I have no idea where to race RC Rally cars.
