That Studio Ghibli Game Is Finally Coming To The PS3 (But It’s Expensive!)

About a thousand years ago, Fukuoka-based game developer revealed it was working on a PlayStation 3 version of Ni no Kuni, its collaboration with venerated anime house Studio Ghibli.

That PS3 version will finally be out on the PS3 on November 17, according to the latest issue of Famitsu. It will cost ¥8,800, which is US$115 in American money. But before you think that’s crazy expensive, remember, Disney Dollars are not only worth more than American money, they have pictures of Mickey Mouse on them.

Even for Japan, though, ¥8,800 is pricey–it’s the high end of the spectrum. Or as I like to say, the overpriced end. And boy oh boy, do I ever say that. Like all the freaking time.

Ni no Kuni was first revealed in 2008, and the DS version, Ni no Kuni: Shikkoku no Madoshi, was released in December 2010.

I could see it being $120 here and $70 in the US, if it were to release outside Japan at all (which the DS game didn’t).

We don’t know yet. I bet that Ni no kuni here will cost as much as the new ps3 pricing :L

        Haters gonna hate.

But a carbon tax really shouldn’t effect game costs. Even if it did it’d only be by half a cent like many house hold items should rise by on average. But that half a cent in most cases will just come out of businesses pockets.

This is not “hater’s going to hate”, this is “intelligent people actually thinking about an issue before blindly joining in on the hate of a harmless gas just because it has a scary name”. Catchy, isn’t it?

Do I seriously need to bring up the Penn & Teller video “Di-Hydrogen Monoxide”?

          Didn’t think so.

            WOW, I mean… wow…

You going to start trying to say that evolution is ‘just a theory’ like the ‘theory’ of global warming being effected by the gases we humans are adding to the atmosphere?

To quote Tim, “…is only a theory!”, which is true, it is a theory, it’s good that they say that, I think, it gives you hope, doesn’t it, that – that maybe they feel the same way about the theory of gravity… and they might just float away.”

Pen & Teller vs 99% of the world’s scientists who are qualified to talk on this topic.

Hmm. I wonder. Pen and Teller ARE magicians after all.

Carbon emissions may be “harmless”, but in great quantities they have a major contributing factor on the greenhouse effect.

Also, you must be an Alan Jones groupie. Seriously.

Didn’t the DS game have additional features, like, something to do with a picture book? I vaguely remember seeing a video of it ages ago and thinking it looked really cool. You’ve gotta love studio ghibli
