
Reader Dan sent along these shots of his Super Metroid outfit. It’s two-dimensional. And I don’t mean that in a bad way.
You may have seen Dan’s costume at events earlier this year, but if you haven’t, know that it’s a pair of 2D “standees” of sort that can be strapped to both sides of the body. From the front the wearer looks like a monster, but from the side, you get one of the sweetest retro effects a cosplay outfit could ever hope for.
The best part? There’s now a villainous counterpart to the costume, Metroid’s Chozo recreated using the same style.
