The Splatoon Theme Is Our Generation’s Stairway To Heaven

Splatoon’s main theme song is pretty special. I love it.

So does everyone else on the internet. Hence YouTube is absolutely stuffed to the gunnels filled with dozens of cover versions.

Today someone sent me a cover version of the song on YouTube. Cool! I wondered if anyone else had done it. One search later…

Yep, that’s a lot of Splatoon cover versions. I’m gonna go right ahead and say that the Splatoon theme song is our generation’s Stairway To Heaven.

Anyway, I thought I’d share some of the highlights and lowlights of an hour spent listening to Splatoon covers on the internet.

This one is probably my favourite. Definitely the most ‘authentic’ whatever that means.

This guy looks like Weird Al. Worth the price of admission.

Meh.

We posted this before. I think it was one of the first versions I saw.

No idea why this guy is playing Splatoon in a garden. Bugger it, just roll with it.

With a bloody KAZOO?

AND THEY TRIED TO COVER IT IN MINECRAFT. The madness will never end.
