The Week In Games

What’s hitting your preferred games retailer this Thursday? Some fairly decent, albeit quite niche stuff actually. For me, the pick is Chrono Trigger on DS, a game I’ve only briefly experienced via emulation never played but that knowledgeable types tell me is one of – if not the – greatest JRPG ever. I’ll definitely be checking it out later in the week.

Feb 5

Chrono Trigger (DS)
What Is It? A port of the 14-year old SNES RPG often regarded as Square’s finest ever work.
Should You Care? Hells yeah.

Football Manager Live (PC, Mac)
What Is It? Sports Interactive’s attempt to take the venerable FM series into the MMO space.
Should You Care? I hear John Kosmina’s decided to give it a go.

Imagine: Fashion Idol (Wii)
What Is It? I’m pretty sure you know what this is.
Should You Care? For the future of videogames? Yes.

Lord of the Rings Online: Mines of Moria (PC)
What Is It? An expansion pack for the Tolkien-approved MMORPG.
Should You Care? More quests? Yay! More regions? Yeah! More dwarves? Sweet jesus!

Saints Row 2 (PC)
What Is It? The PC port of last year’s shittiest – and I mean that literally – sandbox caper.
Should You Care? Only if you like FUN.

SimAnimals (Wii, DS)
What Is It? After a false start, EA’s super cute furry sim is coming out.
Should You Care? If you wanna get your non-gaming girlfriend to start playing games.
