In amongst my notes for ‘This Week in Games’, I have one title underlined, doused in highlighter, circled, with a million exclamation marks surrounding it. That title, ladies and gentlemen, is Rock Band 3.
But that’s far from the only big daddy: there’s Fable 3, The Force Unleashed II, Super Scribblenauts. It’s a big week, and we suspect it’s going to snowball as we approach Christmas. Hang in there chaps, your wallets are in for a bumpy ride.

What is it? A video game based on a kids show that you may or may not have even heard of.
Should you care? You shouldn’t, but you might…
Ben Ten: Alien Destruction (360/DS)
What is it? Game based on the mega popular children’s show.
Should You Care? Sometimes I wish I was nine years old again so I could watch Ben 10 with gay abandon. Sadly, I’m pushing 30.
Blood Bowl (PC)
What is it? A vaguely Speedball-ish video game reworking of a board game.
Should you care? Maybe. If you’re into the board game.
Brunswick Pro Bowling (PS3)
What is it? A really average bowling game.
Should you care? Watch Kingpin instead, because Bill Murray’s in it. Just ignore this.
Buzz!: The Ultimate Music Quiz (PS3)
What is it? The latest update to the popular PlayStation quiz game.
Should you care? We have a soft spot for Buzz! but this is hardly essential.
Deathspank (PC)
What is it? Ron Gilbert’s Diablo parody, finally hopping onto Steam.
Should you care? We liked it!
Fable 3 (360)
What is it? Giant RPG collection of Molyneux hyperbole and bombast made video game flesh.
Should you care? Definitely. This will be a humdinger.
Move TV Superstars (PS3)
What is it? Mini-game collection for the PlayStation Move.
Should you care? For game starved Move owners only.
Lord of the Rings: Aragorn’s Quest (PS3/Wii)
What is it? An accessible slasher customised for motion controllers.
Should you care? Middle Earth dwellers may find value in this.
Rock Band 3 (360/PS3/Wii)
What is it? Mana from the heavens.
Should you care? God gave rock and roll to you – will you heed the call?
Saw 2 (PS3/360)
What is it? Game with copious amounts of frustating puzzle-age and gore.
Should you care? Probably not.
Shaun White Skateboarding (360/PS3/Wii)
What is it? A fresh take on the extreme sports genre.
Should you care? Wait for the reviews…
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (360/PS3/Wii/PC/DS)
What is it? Sequel to above average slasher stuffed full of ret-con.
Should you care? Much improved. Fans will lap it up.
Super Scribblenauts (DS)
What is it? The dazzlingly original, yet tragically flawed DS title gets an upgrade.
Should you care? Absolutely.
The Sims 3 (360/PS3/DS)
What is it? Console versions of PC monster franchise: ACTIVATE!
Should you care? Meh.
WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2011 (PS3/360/Wii/PSP)
What is it? Another wrestling sequel.
Should you care? We’re far more excited about WWE All Stars.
